Plating the Planet – An Earth Day Dinner

Little Red Bean Productions teamed up with Slow Food USA & the Crop Trust to produce an event celebrating the newly formed partnership between these two organizations, both of which have a mutual dedication to crop biodiversity.

The result was Plating the Planet, a collaborative dinner experience hosted at the United Nations on Earth Day 2015. Together, Little Red Bean Productions, Slow Food USA & the Crop Trust curated a group of talented chefs to collaborate and create a multi-course dinner experience for the guests.
The chef team was comprised of Paul Wetzel of Gramercy Tavern in Manhattan; Hugo Orozco of La Slowteria in Brooklyn; Allen Katz of New York Distilling Co in Brooklyn; Alessandro Trezza & Mauro Iannantuoni of L’Albero dei Gelati in Brooklyn; and Evan Mallett of Black Trumpet in New Hampshire.
Guests enjoyed cocktail & charcuterie hour with a jazz quartet providing an upbeat and lively ambiance, followed by a seated dinner that offered menu items such as Tres Hermanas with Cancha Corn; Savory “Bayley Hazen” Blue Cheese Gelato; and Red Wattle Hog Belly.

The night was a huge success and even had welcoming remarks by Mr. Jan Eliasson, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General.
